One of my closest friends asked me to do some portraits and I was super stoked. I called up my friend, Emily at Miss Molly Vintage, for a collaboration for...

I like to say that magic happens at my sessions. I don't mean literal magic, I mean there are moments when the lighting is amazing, my and I client are having a great time, and then BOOM, the shutter clicks. So, yeah, you could say magic was definitely happenin' at this sweet girl's session! Sarah, her mom, and I headed out at sunrise to Talon Winery and the Arboretum for these stunning photos. I think Sarah's spunk and personality definitely shines through these and I loved getting to photograph her! Best of luck to you in your future, Sarah!

The Wainright Family

It's not often that a family of ten, sprawled out across the globe from Colorado to France, makes it to Kentucky to pull off one heck of a family shoot. I was beyond thrilled to make this happen for such an incredible family!

If you have the pleasure of knowing any of these fine folks, you have surely been blessed. The love and passion that grandparents Donna and Dennis share for their family, friends, and the Lord in their life is unlike any other. Being so far away from each other has allowed Donna and Dennis to travel the world like never before, yet it's still no easy feat to be SO far away from those you love. But this family has worked out the kinks along the way and sings praise for any time they get with each other. I loved hanging out with this crew as the girls ran, played, and twirled in the grass and the adults watched. As I snapped away, the giggles and smiles soon ensued. What a treat it was to get to see the Wainright family as they've grown into the beautiful bunch they are! Love you guys!

Stevi

It seems like yesterday I was watching her start high school and now she's about to graduate! I can't believe how fast time slips away sometimes. I loved getting to shoot Stevi as one of my Senior Reps. This girl has the most beautiful smile, sweetest heart, and amazing personality. So when Stevi's mom suggested we do the session at their farm with their horses and Stevi's precious kitten, I was ALL IN. I am so pleased with all of these photos and have been dying to post them! *insert all the heart eyes* I hope your senior year is amazing, Stevi, and I wish you the very best!

Candace

Every now and then, I am blessed to meet clients who long for different photos, who have ideas of their own, and who are creative in what they wish to capture during their session. When I met with Candace and her mom before her session, we talked about incorporating this unique location with a rock face and inlet to the Kentucky river in a friend's backyard into the session. Not only did we start the sunrise session at my favorite local vineyard, Talon Winery and Vineyards, but we ended at this amazing location where Candace seamlessly walked through a creek bed (in a dress and ballet flats, mind you) to get the most unique and stunning senior photos. I loved photographing this girl! She was so fun, yet simple, and up for literally anything. I cannot wait to see where this life takes Candace, and I know nature is definitely in her heart.

Holly and Micah

During my model call for a styled shoot in the Red River Gorge, I met with Holly and Micah to see if they were a fit for the shoot. Once we got talking, I knew we would have a blast and get some amazing shots with the gorgeous landscapes and perfectly-golden sun. (All the heart eyes!)

We headed out to the Gorge one evening and I photographed these two on the way to our stop at Chimney Rock. I loved how these two giggled, played, and loved on each other throughout their session. They're such a sweet couple and it's been an honor to capture their love through my lens. Congratulations, you two!

Megan

Senior Rep Megan was an absolute joy to photograph. I've known this sweet girl basically since she was born! Growing up, I would play at her neighbor's house throughout the summer, and occasionally Megan and her two brothers come over to would join in on the fun. It's an amazing thing to see how much Megan has changed and grown into the person she is today. (I loved how Megan changed up every outfit to create different looks and accessorized them as so for her senior session!) Megan will be a senior at George Rogers Clark High School this fall.

Parker's Birth Story

Going into this delivery, I was completely blind. I had never photographed a live childbirth nor had ever seen one in real life and, oh my goodness, was I in for an amazing experience!

Courtney gave birth to a beautiful baby boy on Saturday, July 23rd at 10:01am with her sweet husband, Ryan, at her side. The wonderful midwife, doctors, and nurses who helped mama with a smooth delivery deserve all the praises and high-fives for doing their jobs so well and wonderfully. Soon after Courtney gave birth, the room was flooded with hugs, love, and pure joy as family members and close friends trickled in to meet baby Parker for the first time.

I don't think I have ever experienced something so wonderful and so mesmerizing in my life. Not only did I bawl like a baby (no pun intended) through the whole thing, but my heart felt overwhelmed with joy for these precious parents. Being present as this precious baby was brought into the world was an honor and a joy to photograph. Thank you so much, Courtney and Ryan, for entrusting me with this incredible opportunity. I absolutely look forward to capturing more births in the future!

Kirstie and Josh

Y'ALL. (I feel like it's going to be a good blog post any time it starts with the word "y'all.")

I really can't even. I feel like this entire shoot is still a dream come true. When Kirstie asked me to do her engagement session, she had TONS of amazing ideas in mind. (Love a bride with killer ideas!) We wanted to create some kind of picnic setup. It was so fun to put some of mine and Kirstie's vintage pretties to good use! We headed out to Jacobson Park one evening to shoot their engagement photos until the sun went down and the staff [basically] kicked us out! YOLO, am I right?

GUYS.

This couple. This evening. Everything. If I were to pick an award for giddiest, most precious, undoubtedly loving couple; they would win all three. You can truly see how psyched they are to get to spend the rest of their lives with each other! It was an absolutely amazing experience to photograph such an in-love couple; one that I'll never forget. I absolutely adore each and every one of these images that we created together. They just show such an intimate, unveiled look at their love for each other.

It is an incredible feeling to see your friends happy. But to see your friends utterly happy with someone they will get to grow old with is an even more incredible feeling. I wish these two love birds a lifetime of love, happiness, and good times.

The Eckman Family

I have been absolutely blessed to know this family for almost as long as I can remember. I've always looked up to Danielle as a sister and a good friend since the day we met. She's one of the most incredible people I've ever met who has a passion and love for both her family and friends. When she and husband, Shane, asked me to do their family pictures downtown, I knew we were bound to have a great time. We walked the streets of downtown Lexington to scout some of the most unique and fun locations before we hiked to the top of a parking structure to snap some of the coolest urban family photos. EVER. To wrap it up, the boys splashed in the puddles from the storm earlier that day before heading to get ice cream at Graeter's. I have literally know both of these boys since birth and have gotten to see them grow, change, and develop their hilarious, little personalities. These boys are big 'ol goofballs but SUCH a blast to be around! I adore this family and their love for one another, their city, and making their joyous mark on this world.

Michelle

This summer, I started a Senior Rep program to help promote my business to the class of 2017. I've recruited a handful of hand-picked seniors from high schools across Central Kentucky for this amazing experience. Michelle, a senior at Bryan Station High School, was first up! At her consultation, I mentioned how much I wanted to do a sunrise session and Michelle was completely on board to do it! We met right at 6:00 in the morning to start shooting at Talon Winery here in Lexington and I can honestly say I've never had so much fun that early in the day! We spent the morning walking around the gorgous grounds and even snapped a few of Michelle and her sweet mama at the end. There are not many things I'd get up at 6:00am for, but STUNNING senior photos like these is definitely one of those things! (Granted, I took two naps that day to catch up on sleep! Ha!) Thank you, Michelle, for being such a stellar Senior Rep! You are such a joy to be around and to photograph. I wish you the very best in your endeavors throughout your senior year and beyond!

County Fair with Miss Molly Vintage

It's always a fun time when Emily and I can get out and shoot! The sweet owner of Miss Molly Vintage and I have done several awesome shoots together but I think this one is my favorite one yet! I loved Emily's vintage dress with the color scheme, the small town vibe and vintage, kitschy feel of the carnival. Head over to her blog to get the full outfit details!
