Bridal Shower Styled Shoot with a Flower Crown Bar

Hey, y'all! It's been a hot minute since I've blogged. It's been my "dead season" for about three months now and I'm itching to get back at it after this cold snap passes! After the first of December, things tend to calm down and I can focus in on the business-y side of things like taxes, pricing structure, planning sessions for the next year, marketing, and upkeep of camera equipment. Additionally, my husband graduated from the University of Kentucky in mid-December (YAY!!) and we've been able to take some time off to spend time together, relax, and even visit his parents in California. Once it starts warming up, I'll be jumping back into weddings full-swing starting in April, traveling back out to California, and [hopefully] do a better job at keeping up with this here blog.

When thinking about jumping back into the blogging world, I couldn't help but think this bridal shower styled shoot would be the perfect reboot from 2017. One of my dearest "friendors" in the industry (whom you might remember worked on this styled shoot last spring with me), Alexis with Wildroots Farmer Florist, and I developed a vision for a bridal shower and knew we wanted to incorporate Alexis's newest venture, a make-your-own flower crown bar, into the scene! Although this was a styled shoot, Alexis still talked the girls through the process of creating a flower crown one step at a time and was able to help out if anyone needed help. After the girls created a flower crown, we snapped some portraits and then we all enjoyed a delightful charcuterie board and some bourbon apple cider (via the 2016 Autumn Lookbook I designed with Gathered Living).

Hoping this colorful blog post will bring you some spring cheer. Here's to seeing green on the trees again soon
